The scariest thing I've read today (and it's from four years ago):
There is a 50 percent chance Lake Mead will run dry by 2021 and a 10 percent chance it will run out of usable water by 2014, if the region's drought deepens and water use climbs, the researchers said.Lake Mead, for those that don't know, is the lake that forms behind the Hoover Dam and connects to the Colorado River. If this lake dries up, water will be "cut off...to the fifth largest economy in the world [the American West]."
Well, now I'm terrified.
